AIA Montgomery actively participates in numerous outreach programs to promote public awareness of architecture and its influence on our lives.
Annaul Draw Montgomery Art Competition
A juried art exhibition organized in 2007 by the Chapter to promote awareness of architecture in grade school students. The exhibition is open to all students in the River Region area in grades 7-12. Entrants are encouraged to use the wealth of historic buildings and architectural styles found in and around the Montgomery Downtown and Riverfront areas. We encourage participants to look carefully at our city and creatively interpret what they see, while conveying awareness of good design and its impact.
Media accepted:
Any two-dimensional medium including but not limited to photography, pencil, ink, acrylics, etc.

Judging & Awards: view calendar for date of judging
Divisions are grades 7-9 and 10-12.
There will be cash prizes awarded in each division. Prizes will be in the range of $150 for first, $75 for second, and $25 for honorable mentions. Artwork will be displayed at the Armory Learning Arts Center through the end of May. Artwork should be picked up by the students from the Armory Learning Arts Center on the date specified.

Winners will be announced live at a formal viewing and awards ceremony at the Armory Learning Arts Center. Refreshments will be provided and the media will be invited to cover the event.

Annual Auburn University CADC Annual Golf Tournament
Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Prattville
The Montgomery Chapter AIA is proud to be an active sponsor of the annual Auburn University College of Architecture, Design & Construction Golf Tournament. This annual event benefits various scholarships and programs for the Auburn University College of Architecture, Design & Construction. Open to the public, the day long event includes continuing education seminars, lunch, guest speaker(s) and golf. 2008 American Streamlined Design Symposium
A public symposium on American Streamlined Design held in conjunction with the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts' "The World of Tomorrow" exhibit. A collection of 186 objects focusing on the 1930s and 40s when streamlined design developed, plus streamlined designs of today, are showcased.
The symposium was organized by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with the College of Architecture, Design and Construction at Auburn University, and the Montgomery Chapter of the AIA.
